Here we will have a look at what our academies have been up to this month.

Clayton Hall Academy

Y11 have had the privilege of watching a performance of A Christmas Carol and Macbeth at school this week followed by some great discussions of character and themes within the play and novella.
Students have enjoyed watching the adaptations and asked some thoughtful questions to the Dickens theatre company who put on a great performance of the set texts.

Newcastle Academy

Antibullying ambassadors have raised £41.10 at their sweet sale which they have organised and manned as part of earning their badges to help raise awareness to their Antibullying campaign. We have also had three new recruits send in their applications to become an ambassador. Good work guys!

Sir Thomas Boughey Academy

As part of an initiative to get more student’s cooking with fish, we were chosen to receive some Wild Alaskan Pink Salmon fillets. Only 250 schools in the UK were given this opportunity so we are incredibly lucky.

Year 10 students watched a virtual workshop run by ex Masterchef winner, Druhv Baker where he produced a Salmon and Tarragon tart.

You can see some of our attempts at the tart and I’m sure you will agree how fabulous they look. It also gave Year 10 a chance to practice their pastry making skills.
Thank you Fish Heroes in School for this wonderful opportunity.
