We are thrilled to announce that the Secretary of State for Education has granted an Academy Order for Sir Thomas Boughey Community High School in Halmer End, Newcastle Under Lyme, to join United Endeavour Trust as Sir Thomas Boughey Academy from 1st September 2017.
The Trust has been working closely with Sir Thomas Boughey since February 2017 – it will be wonderful to have the academy form part of our family of schools officially for the start of the new term.
Sir Thomas Boughey has real potential to improve. Work towards becoming an outstanding academy and the positive way in which the Principal, Jane Hingley, and her team of staff have responded to working with us has been fantastic. We have been impressed at the way all members of the school community have got on with the hard work of addressing the improvement priorities which the school has identified following its inspection in February this year. School examination results and student progress outcomes look set to improve very positively this year, and in coming years, and the Trust is looking forward to ensuring that the wider improvements which the school is working on are well supported and developed. Staff across our three secondary academies are already very actively networking and sharing good practice, as well as working on new developments together. Working in this way improves outcomes for us all and meets our three strategic aims of: providing a rounded education for all of our students, making our academies a part of the community they serve and providing outstanding teaching and pastoral support through well qualified and motivated staff.
All staff at STB are excited about joining UET and have already seen the enormous benefits that being part of this trust will bring.
