At the recent Newcastle College celebration awards for 2017, several former Clayton Hall Academy and Newcastle Academy students were recognised for their achievements:-

Former Clayton Hall Academy Students:

Lloyd Astley – Brittain House Award (studying A Levels in Economics, Government & Politics, and History)

Parawazmin Jawadin – Lodge House Award (studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography)

George Richards – Engineering Award (studying BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering)

Alex Bradbury – Sport Award (studying BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development)

Oliver Durber – Intermediate Apprentice Award (studying Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce)

Former Newcastle Academy Students:

Alexander Broad, Student Xtra of the Year 2017 (studying A Levels in English Language & Literature, French and Sociology)

Daniel Heath, The Principal’s Award (studying A Levels in Computing, Maths and Further Maths)

All of the above have chosen very different courses and will be following a variety of career routes, but all have been awarded not only for their commitment to their studies, but also their contribution to College life and the wider community, taking part in lots of extra-curricular events and taking on additional responsibilities.
